FLOWERS FOR THE CHILD. Residents of Sitio Tawagan, Barangay Sirao, Cebu City offer prayers and flowers to an image of the Sto. Niño, placed in a field of celosia flowers. The celosia was declared the official Sinulog flower in 2000 yet, but it was finally launched only on October 18, 2011. The Cebu City Government also refers to it as the “Halad sa Sto. Niño” (Offering to Sto. Niño) flower because its colors are similar to the Niño’s most popular garments.
